Your first week
This is the fastest path to getting value from Behaview: let Account Setup create your starting roles and task lists, add your team, run a first supervision session, and see it count on the BACB Fieldwork Report.
-
Complete Account Setup.
When you create your organization, the Account Setup page asks for your name, your organization’s name and Short name, and two choices:
- Purpose: one or more of “I want to do Staff Observations/Overlaps”, “I want to track or supervise BCBA Fieldwork”, “I want to track or supervise BCaBA Fieldwork”, and “I want to train and/or assess RBTs”. This sets what Account Setup creates.
- Role: the role you hold, or intend to hold, such as Owner / Administrator, BCBA, or RBT Candidate. This sets which roles you are assigned. The choices follow the purposes you picked.
The Preview beside the form lists the roles, skills, and demo users it will create, and the roles you will be assigned. Select Set me up! to create them. You can change all of it later, and deleting a demo user deletes their demo data.
-
Check your BACB task lists.
Account Setup imports the task lists for your purposes from the Skills Library and assigns them to the roles it creates: the BCBA or BCaBA Test Content Outline for fieldwork, the RBT Test Content Outline and RBT Competency Assessment (2026) for RBTs, and Behavior Technician Basics for staff observations. Open Skills Library in the sidebar to import more, or write your own skills for your clinic’s procedures.
-
Add your staff and set up supervision.
Open Staff and choose Add Staff. Leave Invite to Behaview on to send them a sign-in, or turn it off to add them without access for now, and pick their roles, such as RBT or BCBA Candidate. For each trainee, open their profile, choose Manage › Edit, and fill in their certification fields, such as Pursuing BACB Certification (leave it blank for anyone not in fieldwork). Then make yourself the Supervisor of each person you supervise.
-
Run a first BACB Supervision session.
Open Session Plans and choose New Session Plan. Set Type to BACB Supervision, pick the Supervisee, choose 1–2 task-list skills to observe, and fill in the BACB fields, such as Supervision Type, Format, and Activity Category. When the session begins, choose Start, score skills and write Observation Notes as you go, then choose Complete BACB Supervision (Complete on a phone). Trainees log their independent hours with Add Independent Session on their Dashboard. The goal this week is a baseline and a first round of feedback, not a complete assessment.
-
Check the BACB Fieldwork Report.
Open Reports and, under ABA & BACB Reports, choose BACB Fieldwork Requirements. The BACB Fieldwork Report opens on Summary, each trainee’s counted hours toward BACB’s totals. Select Monthly breakdown to check each trainee’s month against BACB’s fieldwork requirements, counted from their completed BACB Session Plans, and see the Session Plans to fix.
-
Show people how to close their gaps.
Where a skill came up short, make sure the supervisee knows how to improve: playbooks capture how your organization runs each procedure, and AI self-coaching lets them practice on their own between sessions.
-
Establish a cadence.
Regular supervision sessions are what make supervision systematic rather than occasional, and BACB’s monthly requirements set the minimum. Covering 1–2 skills per session is plenty.
-
Review skill priorities monthly or quarterly.
Set a recurring reminder to revisit which skills matter most for each supervisee’s next step, and update their prioritization, so every session covers the most impactful skill.
Keep going
Section titled “Keep going”That’s the loop. As observations accumulate, read the results on staff profiles and in Reports: Role Mastery and the Skills Heatmap for skills, and the Progress Feed for supervision activity. Check RBTs and BCaBAs on the BACB Ongoing Supervision Report, and track KPIs with role metrics.
